Mini Milk Cartons!

Well, Stamp'in Up has done it again with a fabulous Sissix die cut! This one is called the "Mini Milk Carton" and it's adorable! You'll just love it! Thanks to Dawn Olchefske who came up with this great box design to put them in....I was really inspired to play. I had to tweak the dimensions a little bit to work over the clips I decided to close my boxes with, but you can go HERE for her dimensions. This die cut is available through April 30th in the Occasions Mini Catalog. For my friends in the LCCC, we can make a version of this project for our March meeting, if you wish! Just say the word!
Here's my version of this fun box:

Matchbook Candy Holder

So, how has everyone's weekend been so far? Mine has started off great due to a quick overnite visit to see some friends of mine I haven't seen in awhile....I try to get back to Chesapeake as often as I can, but it's not often enough! We had a great time stamping at our Club Group meet and learned a fun project. I'll try and post that later this week.

In the meantime, here's a Matchbook Candy Holder I made using these directions. It was fun to make and turned out pretty cute. I used two sided DSP cardstock from SU, and more Kraft cardstock. :-) The neat thing about this project is you can design it for any occasion! I've included a list of the products I used under the final photo. Remember, Sale-A-Bration is still going on, so for every $50 you spend on Stamp'in Up! product, you get a free item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog!! Combine orders with your friends or order yourself....but don't miss out on the specials!!

All Items Used are SU:

Kraft cardstock, Antique Brass brads, Word Window punch,
Upsy Daisy stamp set #111710, On Your Birthday stamp set #111664
Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die #118138
Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon #109065
Sponge Daubers for 'aging' the edges #102892
Chocolate Chip Classic Ink #100908

Note: You don't have to use two sided cardstock, but make sure you are using a firm cardstock to make both the outside shell and the inner pocket.

Now, go on and play!! :-) Have fun! I'd love to see what you design your matchbook as!

Forever Friends

My daughter and her best friend were curled up on the sofa together (my husband finally gave up on trying to keep the dog off his leather sofa!) and I HAD to go grab my camera to capture the moment! Then....of course...in keeping with trying to catch up on my scrapbooking....I HAD to make a couple pages about them. I really like the photo and am so glad to have captured their comfort together. Hope you are inspired to grab your camera and take some pictures of your children and their animals!

These pages were done using "My Digital Studio" by Stamp'in Up!
It's truly a wonderful program and one you will enjoy playing with.
Check it out by clicking on the "My Digital Studio" link in the right hand column.
Order yours today! :-) You won't regret it!

If you have this stamp set laying around or decide to order it....here's a cute way to use it! The background was brayered first and then the stamp was stamped over it. This is an easy and great look for your solid image stamps! So, go get them out....dig deep for your brayer that you haven't known what to do with....and have fun!! :-)

Valentine's Day Upon Us!

Well, it is snowing again...and with the 50 + mph winds it is white-out conditions! Oh Goodie!! More time to stamp and play with "My Digital Studio!" Thought you might like a 'Valentine' version of my So Shelli challenge to get you ready for the holiday! I LOVE using Stamp'in Up!'s card stock...it's THE best on the market....and Kraft is one of my favorite colors to work with. It goes with every color out there. Just distress it and have fun creating.... :-) I made this combination for my daughter's teachers. They work so hard, and with 28 kids in the class you have to give them a lot of credit for their patience and ability to still show love to the kids... even after a hard and stressful day. :-)

Used: SU Kraft cardstock #102125, SU Real Red cardstock #102482,
5/8 Real Red grosgrain ribbon # 109052,

Hope you find my card and gift box "Springy." :-) I had to make more of my carnations...flowers fit perfectly into Spring!

Stamp'in Community Design Challenge!

Diane Noble, from our Demonstrator Stamp'in Community, issued a card challenge based on her sketch shown below. I've posted my adaption to that sketch. It was a fun challenge and the first one I have ever participated in! Hope you enjoy the summer theme....I'm needing something warm and cheery about now! :-)

I made the scalloped circle by cutting a circle and then using my corner rounder punch (without the guide attached to it) around the edge of the circle. Try it! It wasn't hard.

The Sun is Shining!

Yes! The sun is out...the kids are out enjoying the snow....and we begin shoveling our way out of the drifts. I did take a break to slide down the hill! It was a lot of fun. You forget, sometimes, the fun of acting like a kid every now and then. :-) I tell ya though, trying to walk back up the hill in knee deep snow reminds you of your age! :-)

And that's where I left the shoveling at! I'm pooped. I hope to drag myself back out in a few minutes to do some more. This is putting a huge dent in my stamping time....can't have that! :-)

It's over! ......for now.

So, what do you think? Is this enough snow? Because if you don't think it is, don't worry....we are supposed to get even more Tuesday and Wednesday! Can you imagine?! It is quite lovely to look at though.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow....Let it Snow!

We are officially in the middle of a blizzard! It's crazy outside. Our fire hydrant is soon to be completely covered in the white-out conditions right now. We are praying we don't lose power. The snow is very heavy this time.
On the upside of this storm, it's given me some time to play with Stamp'in Up's new "My Digital Studio" and let me tell you......it's soooo much fun! You can scrapbook, make cards, flyers, announcements, menus, calendars, movies....you name it you can do it! It comes with a book full of stamp images, cardstock, designer series paper, embellishments, ribbon, etc. If you haven't ordered one...you need to! It's $79.95 and worth every penny! Click HERE for more information.
Here's a few pages I've played with today....

This next one I haven't placed any pictures in yet, but it was fun to design!

So, what do you think about the "My Digital Studio" options?

I can't close this out without giving you a photo of what's going on outside, so here it is:

More later........

"It's Cold Outside"

Well, if you haven't already figured it out, I LOVE coffee....and hot tea is good some days too! Particularly when it snows, and snows...and snows. You'd think I had moved to the Arctic with all the snow we've had lately in Maryland. And guess what! God didn't think that the 23 + inches we've had in the last 6 weeks has been enough...so He is graciously going to give us another 2 FEET between today and tomorrow. He must not have gotten my message that I'm about tired of the stuff now. I think my daughter's prayers are working against me on this one! :-)
So, in tribute to yet another snowfall, knowing I'm going to need LOTS of hot drink to warm me and all other Marylanders and Virginians....here's another card for you!

Circle Flowers!

I've been seeing the cutest flowers made using the scallop circle punch, so thought maybe the circle punches would work too. It did!! Instead of using all of one size, I tried using 4 sizes and came out with what appears like a carnation. This flower was made using (3) 1 3/4 circles, (3) 1 3/8 circles, (2) 1 1/4 circles and (1) 1 inch circle. Just crinkle each piece up, lay back out flat, stack them, poke hole through center and secure together with a brad. Then start from the top piece, crinkling it tight together, doing this to each piece as you work to the bottom. Once all pieces are crinkled up, start pulling it out to your desired look. Here's the flower used on a card.....hope you like!

Items used:  1 3/4 circle punch #112004. 1 3/8 circle punch #104401, 1 1/4 circle punch #104403,
1 inch circle punch, Eyelet border punch #113692, Crimper #101618, Build-A-Brad #109128
Little Leaves Sizzlit die #114511, Bravo Burgundy cardstock #105123 and
Very Vanilla cardstock #101650

"You're So Kind"

I have had the Medallion background stamp for several months now and just recently broke it out to use it. I love it! I created this card by stamping the Medallion in Versamark, then embossing with clear embossing powder. This creates a 'relief' so that whatever you stamp on the paper will not stamp over the embossed image. So fun!! Your imagination can run away with you with this technique! I HAD to use the new SU Embosslits Die "Beautiful Wings" to make the butterflies. Throw on a bit of striped ribbon and there you have it!

Items Used:  Medallion background stamp #115223   Beautiful Wings embosslits die #118138
*SAB Whimsical Words cling-mount #119119  Chocolate Chip Striped ribbon #115617
*SAB Scallop Trim Border Punch #118402   Chocolate Chip cardstock #102128
Very Vanilla cardstock #101650   Clear Embossing powder #109130
En Francais background stamp #109521

* SAB are Sale-A-Bration items...For every $50 you spend you receive a SAB item for FREE!!

My First Post!

I've done it! I have entered the blogging world.....with tons of trepidation and confusion, but I'm here! :-) Please have patience with me as I begin this journey. I'm sure I'll make lots of mistakes and lots of changes. Now, where to begin?! I think I'll start with a photo of my creative space. I made it nice and neat before taking this picture. :-) When creating, it's completely covered and looks quite chaotic...but that's what happens when you are trying different techniques and using different tools all at once!

As you see, my Ott Lite and Big Shot are staples on my desk! As well as my Stamp'in Up! inks and markers. Can't do without any of them.
Until next time.....
